The recipes of my mother’s side of the family.
My cookbook is a personal, family cookbook that can be traced back to my great grandmother. The cookbook is from my mother’s side of the family. One of the main components of the cookbook that I find interesting is that it includes a family tree of sorts at the very beginning that gives you a type of timeline to be able to reference whom that particular recipe came from. My cookbook also includes many family photos from various time periods ranging from ones that include me, all the way back to photos of my great grandparents. My mother’s family has lived in the same area, actually on the same farm since my great grandparents were alive. I feel that this shows great uniqueness and has great historical value because you can see the time period and also you know the geographical area from which these recipes come from. It also stood out to me that only one recipe in the cookbook belonged to a male, which was my father who married into the family.
