The Church Ladies Celestial Suppers & Sensible Advice is a cookbook composed of many different recipes and advice that the author Brenda Rhodes Miller put together. Brenda Rhodes Miller put this book together in order to honor all those amazing women who are and were in her life and have helped her become stronger in her faith. Many of the recipes that she has in the book often come with a passage of someone she wants to acknowledge and usually in that passage the person would be sharing the wisdom or customs that still are very present to this day in many African American families. She goes on to share stories of the women who have helped her through some of the hardest times of her life and how their faith never faltered and only has gotten stronger. The words of wisdom can vary from how to dress at church to how to make really good deviled eggs. While not all the passages are light-hearted they come with very strong messages and stories.
