The McCall’s CookBook

1963

Author: The Food Editors of McCall’s

The McCall’s Cookbook (1963) was a cookbook created by popular magazine publisher, McCall Corporation. While considered to be a “classic” cookbook and sought after by collectors, physical copies are easy to acquire. Prices for prints of this book tend to land around the $15 mark, obviously depending on condition. While the design of the McCall’s Cookbook easily grabs the eye, its contents are its most fascinating detail. Described among its 786 pages are not just recipes, while it does have an absurd number of recipes, but also a guide to being an exceptional wife, mother, and host. Mementos of the original owner of this copy are spread throughout the book, from newspaper clippings, to family photos.
